Book Ecke Academy’s The Art of Writing Compelling Non-Fiction Books is a comprehensive, year-long course that guides aspiring writers from the first draft to a publishable manuscript. With professional mentorship, industry insights, and access to exclusive resources, the course allows participants to craft a book, successfully self-edit it under rigorous supervision, and refine it for publication.
This course includes personalized feedback and one-on-one mentorship, enabling the writer to complete the book and undertake revisions independently and confidently.

Course Key Information
- 12 Months of Online Learning: Complete the course modules through expert-led classes and tasks scheduled twice weekly at British time. If you miss a live session, you’ll have 1-week access to the video recording. Sessions are conducted either 1-on-1 or in small groups, with no more than 5 participants per session to ensure personalized attention.

Course Modules: Monthly
Month 1: Concept Creation and Intellectual Property (IP)
- Create an original concept for your book, defining your IP.
- Write a pitch document and a logline for your book.
- Post your pitch and logline, and review the work of your peers.
- Receive feedback and revise your pitch and logline.
- Create a Dramatic Question that defines the core tension in your book.
Month 2: Foundational Structure and First Chapter Outline
- Develop a detailed foundational structure and research areas.
- Write an outline for the first chapter of your book.
- Share your outline and receive constructive feedback.
Month 3: Beginning Your Book
- Start writing the first draft of your book based on the outlined first chapter.
- Focus on setting the tone, mood, and narrative voice.
- Submit your first three chapters for feedback from your mentor and peers.
Months 4–9: Writing the Core of Your Book
- Write the remaining chapters of your book during this period.
- Submit chapters for monthly reviews by your peers and mentor.
- Focus on building pacing, tension, and character development.
- By Month 6, ensure your manuscript follows a cohesive structure and voice.
- Mid-Year Review (Month 7): A comprehensive review of your manuscript with feedback to guide improvements.
- Editing and Refinement (Months 8 and 9): Focus on corrections, building tension, and crafting a solid ending.
Month 10: Mid-Point Table Read and First Act Review
- Take a break from writing this month.
- Participate in a table read of the first seven chapters of your book with your mentor, selected peers, and industry experts.
- Discuss research areas, narrative flow, and critical highlighting points.
- Refine based on the feedback received.
Month 11: Final Submission and Prologue Creation
- Submit your completed and polished manuscript.
- Collaborate with your mentor for a final table read to refine the book.
- Write and refine a prologue and synopsis for submission to agents.
- Focus on making your synopsis concise and compelling.
- Book Cover idea generation.
Month 12: Networking and Promotion
- Learn key strategies for networking within the literary industry.
- Focus on building your personal author brand.
- Participate in guest sessions with published authors on the topics of promotion, self-publishing, and navigating the traditional publishing world.
- Engage in peer and mentor-supported agent pitch preparation.
This structured course provides all the tools and support needed to transform an initial idea into a completed, market-ready manuscript while connecting with peers, mentors, and industry professionals.
